REGULAR MEETING—WEDNESDAY, JULY 7, 2004—7:00 PM—MUNICIPAL BUILDING

The Regular meeting of the Common Council of the City of Buffalo City was called to order by Mayor William Bruegger. Roll call: Briggs, McFarlin, Michaels, Pawlak. Other attendees: City Employee Dan Wicka; Dave Brommerich, news reporter; Dan Grossman, Federal Warning Systems; Al Sobotta, Paradise Bay. The meeting was held as noticed.

Motion McFarlin, second Pawlak to accept the minutes from the June 14, 2004 regular meeting. All yes, motion carried.

Dan Grossman presented information and price quotes on weather sirens from Federal Warning Systems. Motion McFarlin, second Pawlak to accept the quote of $24,280.00 for the DC siren system from Federal, and order the sirens as soon as possible using budgeted monies in the Weather Siren Fund with the balance to be paid from the general funds. Roll call, all yes, motion carried.

Al Sobotta addressed the Council with a request to have outdoor live music at the Bikini Contest sponsored by Paradise Bay on July 24th. The band will play from 7-11 pm. The Council granted approval.

Health & Safety: Dan Wicka will work with Dan Hess about cat control. Bruce McFarlin will talk to the property owners who are continuing to park in the alleyway.

Recreation: new electrical outlets were installed in the concession stand at the ballpark.

Public Works: Spring Lake road will not be repaired this year as the blacktop company is booked out for the year.

Cemetery: the fence company is waiting for some brackets before the new fence can be completed. There has been no decision if the old gates will be for sale. A plaque will be placed on the new fence acknowledging the City and Castlerock Foundation, and the year established.

The Clerk announced that she would be out of the office next week to attend a training session. Board of Review is scheduled for Monday, August 16, 2004 from 4-6 pm; Open Book will take place earlier in the day, time to be determined later.

Motion Briggs, second Michaels to grant Trust to Beautify Graves to: Myrna Keller, Lot 349 S1/2, Graves 1&2; Lois Lietha, Lot 35 S1/4(N) new section, grave 1. All yes, motion carried.

Motion McFarlin, second Pawlak to pay bills. Roll call, all yes, motion carried.

Motion Michaels, second Briggs to adjourn. All yes, motion carried.
