The 2nd Regular April meeting of the City of Buffalo City Common Council was called to order by Mayor William Bruegger. Roll call: Briggs, McFarlin, Michaels, Pawlak. Also present: City Superintendent Wicka, Nora Anderson, Marlene Kassel, Gerald Rolbiecki. The meeting was held as noticed.

Motion Michaels, second Briggs to approve the minutes from the April 11, 2005 Regular meeting. All yes, motion carried.

Citizen Comments: Mr. Rolbiecki took this time to thank the out-going members of the Council (Briggs & Michaels) for their years of service. The Mayor thanked them for their service and contributions to the City, and presented Michaels with a certificate of appreciation for the 14 years that he served on the Council.

Health & Safety: there have been no changes in clean up by those property owners that received violation letters.

Recreation Committee: Motion Pawlak, second McFarlin to approve the recommendation from the Rec Committee to allow the Lions Club to put in two horseshoe pits in the park in the location chosen by the Committee. All yes, motion carried. Nancy Peck is the coordinator/contact person for this project.

Public Work: Sweeping of City streets has been completed.

Finance Committee: Motion Briggs, second Michaels to approve the renewal quote of $16,873.09 from Wausau Insurance for the Corporate Insurance Program without any optional terrorism coverage. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. Motion McFarlin, second Pawlak to approve the renewal quote of $1950.00 from Local Government Property Insurance for buildings, property in the open, and equipment. Roll call, all yes, motion carried.

Cemetery Committee: fence arches should be completed soon.

Riverfront: the clerk announced that one-half of the grant money has been received for the recreational access dredging during the drawdown.

Clerk/Treasurer: the clerk handed out copies of an announcement for the “New Officials Workshop” to be held in Eau Claire on May 27, 2005.

Motion Michaels, second Briggs to pay bills. Roll call, all yes, motion carried.
